The Story of A.P. Nonweiler
1929
Arno Paul Nonweiler creates a manufacturing facility to produce synthetic resins and industrial finishes. Based on his experience, he becomes a leader in customer service and superior quality.

1931
A.P. Nonweiler corporation is formally established.

1930's
A.P. Nonweiler is only one of two companies that begins manufacturing latex paint. The other is Sherwin Williams.
1935
A one-story, 30′ x 70′ concrete block structure is constructed to accommodate the expanding business.
1940's
A.P. Nonweiler Co. developed new techniques in making infrared ink for aerial photos for war planes, which were used to spot enemy placements.

1953
A.P. Nonweiler Co is recognized as the finest and best-equipped research laboratory to be found in any similar industry north of Milwaukee, becoming a consultant for other manufacturers of synthetic resins.
1960's
Richard A. Nonweiler assumes the leadership role from his father as President and continues to create new in the industry. His father, Arno, dies in 1968.
1970
A.P. Nonweiler Co. paint plant, and an additional under construction, gutted by fire caused by solvent ignited by a spark when a pump was switched off. The plant was rebuilt as well as additions to the commercial and industrial space.

1970's
A.P. Nonweiler survives and excels due to fast thinking innovation. 5,200 Paint manufacturers operating in the USA are reduced to less than 1,700 due to mergers, acquisitions, and increasing government regulation. A.P. Nonweiler Co. contributes sponsorship to the Winnebag County Department of Social Services āCAREā 1971 program, supporting foster care. Additionally, in 1977, A.P. Nonweiler Co. contributes sponsorship to the United Cerebral Palsy televised Telethon.

1973
A new latex varnish is developed and expands into sales being offered at a retail paint showroom which was added after the 1971 fire.
1980's
A.P. Nonweiler Co. coatings are used as protection for a wide variety of products such as: Mercury Marine engines, GM door hinges, Ford autos, Ingersol tractor parts, typewriter covers, Leach garbage trucks, and bicycles. Additionally, they become proficient at offering DNR and EPA compliant coatings needed by manufacturers.
1980
A.P. Nonweiler plant contains 40,000 square yearā as a 30 – 35% annual growth pattern continues. A 15,000 square foot addition is started. A steel warehouse added in 1988.

1986
A new āState of the Artā spectrophotometer computer is purchased. Able to identify all ingredients in a coating and print out the formular to replicate the coating.

1994
Dr. Mark Arno Nonweiler, grandson of A.P. Nonweiler, becomes Chief Operating Officer.

1998
Owner and president, Richard āDickā A. Nonweiler passes away.
2005
Crescent Bronze Powder Company based in Chicago since 1922 is purchased and relocated to the A.P. Nonweiler facility. Crescent Bronze is a leader in the specialty coatings and metallics industry with brands Cres-lite, Chromotone, Vaultmaster, Luremaster, and Color FX.
2007
A.P. Nonweiler attains Certificate of Registration – ISO 9001:2015

2016
From 160,000 square feet, the facility adds new production and warehouse space to achieve a 225,000 square foot structure.
2022
March 22 – A.P. Nonweiler Co. is acqcuired by Renovo Capital retaining the Oshkosh based 175,000 square foot manufacturing facility, in partnership with its third generation family owner, Mark Nonweiler.

September 6 – A.P. Nonweiler Co. acquires PurEpoxy, a leading North American concrete coatings manufacturer of high-quality liquid polymer products for commercial, industrial and residential projects.
